Trip to Verona, among the city’s beauties, would not be complete without the Arena, the historic amphitheater that has been exceptionally well preserved.
When choosing to embark on a trip to Verona, one of the must see landmarks is undoubtedly the Arena, the city’s most iconic monument. We are talking about a Roman amphitheater located right in the historic center, still preserved in excellent condition. Its base is elliptical in shape, surrounded by a distinctive tiered seating structure. Its capacity has recently been recalculated and stands at around 15,000 people.
Today, the Arena hosts numerous events and performances, especially during the summer season. Among the most notable are the opera season, concerts by world renowned artists, the final stage of the Giro d’Italia in 1884, and many other events.
